The Counsellors

Every clinician is a Registered Clinical Counsellor

Every counsellor at Wellness Talks holds a Master's degree in counselling psychology and is an RCC with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Some also hold additional designations, including CCC and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) to support Ontario clients virtually. Read on to meet them — in their own words.

Hi, I’m Esha...

If you're carrying anxiety, relationship stress, chronic pain, trauma, or the pressure of always having to keep going, you do not have to navigate it alone.

I'm Esha Shoker, MACP, RCC, a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver and the Clinical Director of Wellness Talks Health Centre. I support adults, couples, and families with anxiety, burnout, chronic pain, ICBC trauma, relationship conflict, cultural identity, and major life transitions.

My approach is warm, direct, evidence-informed, and culturally responsive. In therapy, we look beneath the surface, understand the patterns keeping you stuck, and build practical tools for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and long-term change.

I offer in-person counselling in Downtown Vancouver and virtual counselling across British Columbia.

MORE ABOUT ESHA

With over 9 years of clinical experience and 16+ years in the behavioural sciences, I bring a structured, compassionate, and goal-oriented approach to therapy.

Before becoming a clinical counsellor, I spent 10 years working with children, youth, and families in roles including Preschool Teacher, Education Assistant, and Child and Youth Care Worker with the Surrey School Board. I also worked for 4 years as a Residential Program Coordinator at Phoenix Society, supporting individuals navigating complex mental health, substance use, and life transition challenges.

At Wellness Talks, I work collaboratively with clients to create clear treatment plans and meaningful short and long-term goals, so counselling feels focused, supportive, and aligned with your values.

My work is grounded in attachment science, trauma-informed counselling, cultural awareness, and family systems. I also provide clinical supervision and mentorship for emerging counsellors and interns. In addition, I serve as an Oral Adjudicator on the Exam Faculty for City University of Seattle's Master of Counselling program.

Hi, I’m Manpreet...

I know reaching out for counselling can feel uncomfortable, especially when you're used to handling things on your own. Sometimes people come into therapy carrying stress, relationship challenges, grief, family conflict, burnout, anxiety, or emotions they've been pushing aside for a long time.

I'm Manpreet Sanghera, a Master's level counselling intern currently completing my Master of Counselling Psychology through City University of Seattle. Alongside my education, I've worked in community-based counselling and family support settings supporting children, youth, adults, couples, and families through difficult life experiences and transitions.

My approach comes from the belief that people want to feel understood before anything else. I value genuine connection, honesty, empathy, and creating a counselling space that feels human and supportive. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approaches.

I offer virtual counselling sessions across British Columbia at an accessible low-cost rate under clinical supervision.

I've always valued meaningful conversations and genuine human connection, which is a big part of what drew me toward counselling work. I believe therapy should be a space where people feel heard, respected, and safe enough to explore what they're carrying at their own pace.
